BARTON: Mary Beryl

Mary Beryl Barton-passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 31, 2018 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Beryl Barton of Port Rowan in her 84th year.

Beloved wife of Peter Barton who she married in Chatham Kent, England on June 27, 1953.  Loving mother of Graham & wife Tracy of Stittsville, ON and Steven & wife Lisa of McKinney, Texas.  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Kiah, Nathan, Joshua & Samantha, Michael, Mac and Jack.

Predeceased by her brothers William & Frank Dukes.

A Celebration of Beryl’s life will take place at the Clubhouse at the Villages of Long Point Bay on Sunday November 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada would be appreciated by the family.

MOORE: William Lawrence “Bill’

MOORE: William Lawrence “Bill” – died suddenly and unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday October 29, 2018.  Bill Moore of Windham Centre in his 63rd year.

Beloved husband, business partner and best friend of Suzanne (MacLaren) who he married May 6, 1977.  Proud father of Catherine & husband Michael Jepson of Kitchener, the late Rebekah (1985), Sarah Moore of St. Williams, Eliza Moore of Windham Centre and Robert Moore of Brantford. Grandfather of 4 beautiful grandchildren Moira, the late Alice (2011) Winston and George Jepson.  Cherished nephew of Dianne Moore of Waterloo, Gladys Overbaugh of Scotland, Vera Smith of Simcoe and Fay Marvin of Simcoe.   He is survived by several cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Gordon & Betty Moore and by his in-laws David & Grace MacLaren.

Bill has had a proud association with the agricultural community from the family farm as a child to a long time grain merchandizer & manager of St. Lawrence Grains and the Norfolk Co-op.  During this time he served on the Ontario Agrica Business Association- Grain Section and eventually chaired the organization.  His second career in partnership with his wife has been as a full time antique & nostalgia dealer of Caresa Antiques in their own shop, at shows, antique markets and internet sales.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St. Port Rowan on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 11:00am.  Interment in Clear Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Clear Creek Cemetery (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

 

LeBLANC: Joseph Laurie

LeBLANC: Joseph Laurie – passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Laurie LeBlanc of Port Rowan in his 85th year.

Beloved husband of Diane Leblanc who he married July 26, 1996.  Dear father of Anne-Marie & husband Michael Findlay of New Lowell, Lucie & husband Dan Ranger of Oakville and Eric Leblanc & Kathy Fagan of Etobicoke.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Renee & Josh, Erica & John, Nicholas & Maggie, Dan Jr., Lone, Katelyn, Lexi & Presley, David and by great grandchildren Noah, Elijah, Lucas, Serenity, Tristan & Tamina.  Remembered by his step-daughters Annamaria and Melanie , by his step-grandchildren Kristal, Katrina, Kayla, Jake, Joey, Monica and Amanda and by step great grandson Michael.  Survived by his brothers and sisters Elmire,  Florine, Ronald, Maurice, Aurelie, Anne & Rosella.

Predeceased by brothers and sisters Yvon, Dora, Ida, Jacques, Delphine and Michael

A viewing and time to Celebrate Laurie’s life will take place at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St. Port Rowan, Ontario on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.  Cremation will then take place with burial of ashes later in New Brunswick.

 

 

 

DRIEDGER: Alice Martha (nee Wall)

DRIEDGER: Alice Martha (Wall) in the evening hours of October 22nd, after a lifetime of serving her Lord and ministering to people, passed from the abundant life of this world and into the eternal life that God’s Word promises.  Following a season of illness and surrounded by loving family in her room at Norview Lodge, she breathed a final time and spoke the words, “I love you”, as she stepped into the presence of God.

Mom’s life was a Season of 83 years: a time in which she proved herself to be a true Proverbs 31 woman.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 63 years, Peter Driedger; her children Dennis and Janie Driedger, Lorraine and Bill Wiebe, David and Marlena Driedger; grandchildren Aaron and Shelly, Jes and Mark, Lana and Keith, Stephanie and Aaron, Luke and Alicia, Amy and Sian, Cara and Ian, Tehilah, Emma, Nic, Joel, Mark; great-grand-children Taliah, Silas, Acacia, Landen, Shane, Miles, Hannah, Holly, Emerson, Elijah, Hunter; a large extended family and a host of faithful friends.

Alice is survived by siblings Frank, Melita, John and Susie, Anna, Jake and Eleanor, Louise and Ken; sisters-in- law Agatha Guenther, Anne Hildebrandt; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Anna Wall (Dick); infant son Timmy; and several precious family members.

Friends and Family are invited to visitation at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan, Thursday, October 25, 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

A Celebration of the life of Alice Driedger will take place on Friday, October 26, at 11:00am at the Port Rowan Mennonite Brethren Church.  All are invited to attend the Church Service and the Luncheon that will follow in the adjacent Gymnasium.  A private Family interment at Fairview Cemetery will precede this Service.

In lieu of flowers, the Family encourages donations to “Precept Ministries Canada”.

PETKER: Peter – passed away peacefully on Monday March 26, 2018 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Peter Petker of RR#1 Port Rowan in his 92nd year.

Beloved wife of Catharine (nee Mulligan) whom he married November 29, 1952.  Dear father of Donald of Clear Creek, Gordon of Waterford and Judith of Kitchener.

Survived by his sisters-in-law Marilyn Guthrie, Lydia Reimer, Shirley Adams, Ivy Burns and brother-in-law Wayne and Pat Mulligan.

Predeceased by parents Henry & Justina (Schritt) Petker, brothers Nick & Marie, Henry, Vick, sisters Anne & Nick Wiebe and Helen & Keith Lloyd

A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00a.m. on Thursday October 25, 2018 in the Clear Creek Cemetery. A gathering after the service will take place at Houghton First Baptist Church.  If desired, donations can be directed to Houghton First Baptist Church,  723 Lakeshore Rd., RR#1 Port Burwell, ON   N0J 1T0.
