ABBEY: Isabel Lila

Isabel AbbeyABBEY: Isabel Lila (nee Wright) – passed away peacefully on Sunday March 30, 2014 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Isabel Abbey of Long Point and formerly of Ancaster in her 75th year.

Loving wife of Robert Abbey whom she married March 8, 1958. Dear mother of Alan & wife Valerie, Barb & husband Dan Karschti all of Ancaster and Rob & wife Maggie of Pain Court. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Spencer, Megan, Alan, Devon, Dylon, Michael, Darren, Olivia and Cole. Survived by her sisters Margaret Young of St. George and Ruth & husband Harold Spriggs of Dallas, Texas. She will be remembered also by Virginia Maskell-Fantasia.

Predeceased by her son Paul and by brother-in-law Adam Young.

Isabel retired to Long Point after a long career as Executive Secretary with Pioneer Petroleum. She was Past President of both the Long Point and the A2 District of the Lioness Club. To Isabel her family meant everything and always enjoyed her fishing trips to Northern Ontario. She was a very talented crafty lady and enjoyed baking and canning for her family and friends.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan for Memorial Visitation on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. At 8:00pm words of remembrance will be said followed by a Lioness Memorial Service being conducted under the auspice of the Long Point Lioness Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alberton Presbyterian Church or the Long Point Lioness Guide Dog Project (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

MAGNUS: Donald Lawrence

roseMAGNUS: Donald Lawrence– passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 25, 2014 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Don Magnus of Port Rowan in his 80th year.

Loving husband of Shirley (Schram) Magnus. Loved father of Rosanne, Mike (Belinda), Steven (Val) and father-in-law of Christine (Isaac). Loving grandfather of Jenna, Emily, Josh, Michael and Amy Magnus. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law June Billings, Rose (Ron) Kurtz, Glenna (Brian) Wakefield, Arlene (Al) Hurdle, Brenda Ellig, Nancy Schram and brother-in-law Ralph Zuccala and by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his son Dan Magnus (July 20, 2008), parents Andrew (1960) and Minnie (1995), brothers-in-law Herb Billings, Lloyd Schram, Terry (Jessie) Schram and sisters-in-law Verna (Ed) Schaefer and Donna Zuccala.

Don was a long time employee of Boehmers, Kitchener.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Thursday evening  from 7-9 p.m .  A private family service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Friday March 28, 2014. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Port Rowan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Camp Trillium/Rainbow Lake or Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

Beth Skuce of Long Point in her 60th year. Beloved wife of John Skuce whom she married October 27, 1973. Loving mother of Tracy & husband Jason Reese of RR#4 Langton, Lisa & husband Ryan Irvine of Stratford. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Nolan, Preston and Izzy. Dear sister of Brett Ansley of St. Williams and Mark Ansley.  Beth was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Port Rowan, a member 0f the Long Point Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the founding and current Chairperson of the Port Rowan Bayfest Committee. Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 1:00p.m. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening at 6:30pm under the auspice of the Long Point Chapter.
