CHAMBERS: Beatrice Annie Irene (nee Fleuelling) – passed away peacefully on Friday June 29, 2018 at her residence Caressant Care on Mary Bucke, St. Thomas. Beatrice Chambers formerly of Walsingham and Tillsonburg in her 97th year.
Beloved wife of the late Charles “Chic” Chambers who predeceased her Aug 4, 1978. Loving mother of the late William “Pat” Chambers (Feb 7, 2010) and his wife Darlene of St. Thomas, Dennis Chambers and his late wife Helen (June 27, 1998) of Tillsonburg, the late Barry Chambers (July 29, 2003) and his wife Kim of Tillsonburg and Nancy Lovell of St. Thomas. She will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
Beatrice is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her parents William and Margaret (Irvine) Fleuelling, brothers Mason and June Fleuelling, Ralph and June Fleuelling, sisters Gertrude and Jack Patterson, Helen & Alvin Loucks, Elizabeth & Joe Bennett, Olive and Jim Hearn and by her great grandson Derek.
Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Thursday July 5, 2018 at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Walsingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Walsingham, Children’s Wish Foundation or the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.
BOULOS: Gerda Dorthy (nee Bergen) – Gerda was born September 17, 1936 in Ressor, Ontario to Henry and Mary Bergen.
Moving to the south this family arrived in Port Rowan where Gerda attended Public School, going on to graduate High School in Delhi, Ontario.
At Hamilton General Hospital she took her nursing training and became a Registered Nurse. She began this career at Norfolk General Hospital and then returned to Hamilton to work there. After a number of years Gerda decided to attend Toronto Bible College from which she graduated and then found herself in Chicago working in a mission for unwed mothers. This is where she met her future husband, Dr. Badi Boulos.
Badi and Gerda were married in Port Rowan and returned to the United States to start their life together. They ended up in Addison, Illinois where they settled to raise their family of four boys. Once the boys were in high school Gerda studied for her Master’s Degree in Nursing and went back to work in Addison.
She is predeceased by her husband Badi, her parents Henry & Mary Bergen and her oldest sister Mary Elizabeth who died at 6 months in Ressor, Ontario.
Gerda is survived by her four children: Emil of Chicago, Illinois; Tom of Kentfield, California; Dan (Gina) of Honolulu, Hawaii and Matt (Donna) of Sadorus, Illinois. Six grandchildren: Dylan, Sierra, Josh, Matin, Julianna and Daniel. Also survived by her sister Hedy in P.E.I; brothers Walter (Betty) and Ernie (Maxine) and her sister Lydia all in Ontario. She will be missed by all.
A private family graveside service took place in the Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan.
