MONROE: Robert David “Candy Man” – passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Dave “Candy Man” Monroe of RR#1 Simcoe in his 74th year.       Dave is survived by his wife, his son and two daughters.

All funeral arrangements will remain private and have been entrusted to the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front Street Port Rowan.

JOHNSON: John Christian

john-johnsonmemorial-card-pictureJOHNSON: JOHN CHRISTIAN – peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at University Hospital, London, Ontario, John Johnson passed away in his 79th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (McLean) for 42 years. Loving father of Bernie Johnson (Lorna) of Ridgeway, Janice Verhaeghe (Eric) of Komoka, Kim Lowry (Paul) of Bothwell, Danny MacDonald (Teresa) of Turkey Point and Jenn Sporbeck of Belmont.  Cherished grandfather of Tyler (Tiffany), Kelsey and fiancée Michael, Ben, Hilary, Garrett, Bailey, Josh, Kenzie, Zach and Noah.  Great grand-father of Jaxxon and Colton.  Dear brother of Arnold of Simcoe. Also remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. John will be missed by all those who knew and loved him and especially his witty sense of humour as he could always make you laugh. He will be sadly missed by his good friends Brad Thomson and Jim Pepper.

Predeceased by his sister-in-law Georgina Johnson.

John was a Founder & General Manager of Booth’s Harbour Developments Ltd for over 40 years.  He was a member of the Walsingham Masonic Lodge, the Norfolk Shrine Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Rowan.

Family and friends will be received at Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front Street, Port Rowan, Ontario on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 am with luncheon to follow at the Port Rowan Legion.  Private family burial at Johnson Cemetery, St. Williams, Ontario.

Many thanks to the hospital staff at University Hospital, London, Ontario especially those in the Intensive Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospital (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

PICKERSGILL: Gordon Arthur

rosePICKERSGILL: Gordon Arthur –  passed away peacefully on Monday February 6, 2017 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Gord Pickersgill of RR#1 Walsingham in his 94th year.

Beloved husband of the Late Marion (nee White) Pickersgill who predeceased him January 1, 2004.  Dear father of Joan Pickersgill of Long Point, Dean & wife Wendy of RR#1 Walsingham and Ralph of RR#1 Walsingham. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jodie, Julie and Trista and by his great grandchildren Mason, Emily, Joseph, Jason and Jaxon.  Survived by his sister Jean Carson of Courtland.

Predeceased by his parents Allan and Grace (Hazen) Pickersgill, brothers Hazen & wife Pearl, Harold & wife Grace and by sister Marjorie Matthews.

Gord farmed tobacco at RR#1 Walsingham until retiring in 1993.  He served on South Walsingham Twsp and Norfolk Twsp Council for 27 years, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Rowan, the Walsingham Masonic Lodge and the Tillsonburg Shrine Club.  Gord loved to hunt as well as fishing at Long Point and always had a companion dog at his side.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Friday February 10, 2017 at 1:30pm.  Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Walsingham.
