Lily HazenHAZEN: Lily Marie (nee LaForge) – passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Norview Lodge, Simcoe, Lily Hazen formerly of Walsingham in her 95th year.

Lily was born September 26, 1921 to Samuel and Martha LaForge. She was the last surviving child in a family of 16.

She is survived by her children Nina Starling (late Wray, March 2008), Sandra (Sheldon)Dedrick, Brian (Debbie), Darrell (Tammy) and step daughter, Betty Jane Vanthuyne (late Ron, April 2009). Mom had 19 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Winston (May 1991), her sons Lee Louks (Jan 1955), Earl Louks (April 2013) her daughter Nellie Andress (Dec 2002), son-in-law Earl Andress (Jan 2007). Also predeceased by 8 brothers and 7 sisters.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front Street Port Rowan on Friday from 5-8pm.  Funeral Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the Funeral Home on Saturday February 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Walsingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society/Lewy Body Dementia, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Charity of One’s Choice (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

PYE: Frances Pauline

Francis PyePYE: Frances Pauline (nee Ames) – passed away suddenly on Saturday February 13, 2016, Frances Pye of St. Williams in her 80th year.

Beloved wife of the late Eldin Pye who predeceased her December 28, 1989. Loving mother of Adele and husband John Waite of Aylmer. She will be sadly missed by her granddaughters Michelle & husband Hashim Mohammed and their children Kylan and Kinleigh of Aylmer and Danielle & husband Jeremy Trader of London. Survived by her brother Donald Ames & his wife Marie of Oshawa.

Predeceased by her Son Allan (in infancy), sisters Edna Ames, Ona Toth, Norma Ames and brother Calvin Ames.

Frances was a member of the St. Williams United Church, the Norfolk Old Tyme Music Association, was a founding member of the St. Williams Jamboree and was a volunteer at the Port Rowan Thrift Shoppe.

THOMPSON: Frederick Clifford

roseTHOMPSON: Frederick Clifford – passed away peacefully on Saturday February 6, 2016 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Fred Thompson of Port Rowan in his 82nd year.

Loving husband of Ruth Thompson whom he married November 15, 1957. Dear father of Kim Thompson-Morin of Delhi, Chris & husband Isaac Giesbrecht of Richmond, Jenni & husband Bill Chamberlain of Port Rowan and Bill Thompson of Blackfalds, Alberta. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Cody, Jenna, Emily, Josh, Jeremy, Rebecca. Survived by his brother Bob & wife Barbara of Clear Creek, by his mother-in-law Nellie Thompson of Simcoe, by brother-in-law Ron Thompson and wife Roberta of West Bank, B.C., by sister-in-law Terri & husband George Kapitor of Simcoe and special nephew Leonard Thompson, son-in-law Richard Morin and by many nieces and nephews. Later in life Fred was blessed with the Giesbrecht family.

Predeceased by his son-in-law Dan Magnus (July 20, 2008), parents Ken & Fay Thompson, brother Stan Thompson, sister Grace Ashford, father-in-law Wilfred Thompson and nephew Jerry Ashford.

Fred was a career Truck Driver and also had drove School Bus for Port Rowan Coach lines for 20 years to Delhi High School.
