DEDRICK: Stella Grace (nee Mudford)

DEDRICK: Stella Grace (nee Mudford) – Passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Norview Lodge, Simcoe.  Grace Dedrick of Port Rowan in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Dedrick who predeceased her November 9, 2013. Loving mother of Larry (Mary), Sheldon (Sandra), Maxine Lewis (Philip), Stella Walker (Dave), Judy Mabee (Robert), Gloria Sinnesael (Bradley), Brad (Kathy).  Grace treasured her family and will be missed by her 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.  Survived by sisters-in-law Judy Mudford & Kathleen Mudford.

Grace was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her parents Henry & Stella (Harris) Mudford, brothers Roy (Audrey), Harley (Jean), Harold, Gordon (Shirley), Fred, Blake (Nancy), sisters Dorothy Pelfrey (Glen), Violet Mudford, Marie Kenline (Bill), Reta Bouck (Harry), Ruby Hazen (Ben) and by her son-in-law Richard Shelly (2006).

Grace & Lawrence celebrated 72 years of marriage. They lived on their farm north of Port Rowan for most of their married life.  Grace enjoyed knitting, cooking & gardening, being a member of the Port Rowan Free Methodist Church, the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, the Onward & Upward Club and raising her family.  Every Saturday morning Mom would be up at 6am to bake her delicious pies.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Friday August 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Port Rowan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Port Rowan Free Methodist Church, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family

DOERKSEN: Marie (nee Hiebert)

DOERKSEN: Marie (nee Hiebert) – passed away peacefully on Saturday August 25, 2018 at her residence, Tabor Manor, St. Catharines.  Marie Doerksen formerly of Port Rowan in her 99th year.

Beloved wife of the late David Doerksen who predeceased her June 13, 2002.  Loving mother of Elizabeth & late husband Arthur Kutz (Feb 4, 2017) of Kitchener, Martin & wife Selma of Port Rowan, Linda & husband Wilbert Unger of London and Ellen & husband Bill Reimer of Port Rowan.  She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents Henry & Kathrina (Schultz) Hiebert, brothers Henry Hiebert & his wives Margaret & Kathleen, Jacob Hiebert, sisters Helen & Peter Teigrob, Katie & David Redekop, Marguerite & Reg Henderson and Anne Redekop and her husbands Cornelius Pauls and David Redekop.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Wednesday from 4-8pm.  Private family interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Port Rowan.  A public memorial service will take place at the Port Rowan Mennonite Brethren Church, Port Rowan on Thursday August 30, 2018 at 11:00am.

ANDERSON: Ronald James “Andy”

ANDERSON: Ronald James “Andy” – passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday August 21, 2018. Andy Anderson of Simcoe and formerly of Port Rowan and Oakville in his 86th year.

Beloved husband of Winnifred “Winn” (nee Johnson) who he married August 28, 1954.  Dear father of Ronna & husband Daniel Claus of Burlington, Julie Long of Simcoe, and Steven of Simcoe.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Adam & Ashley, Curt, Kevin, Alex, Alicia, Brent & Kristine, Brad & Jeff and by great grandson Arlo.  Survived by his brother Donald & wife Marie and his nephews David & wife Tracey and Donald.

Andy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 379 Port Rowan

Funeral Arrangements will remain private and have been entrusted to the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front Street Port Rowan.

THOMPSON: Maryanne Amanda – passed away suddenly on Monday August 20, 2018 at the St. Joseph Hospital, Hamilton.  Maryanne Thompson of St. Williams in her 35th year.

Loving daughter of Len & Diane (Brown) Thompson of St. Williams.  Dear sister of Ed and Karïn of Turkey Point and Brent of Simcoe.  Special aunt to Chanel & Chelsea.  Maryanne will be remembered by her aunts and uncles Sharon Bahry, Alan & Wanetta Brown, Richard & Margot Brown, Ken Thompson, Deb & James Smith and Dee Thompson & Max.  She is also survived by many extended family.

Predeceased by her grandparents Reg & Mary Brown and Stan & Myrtle Thompson.

PEARSON: George Howard “Howie”

PEARSON:  George Howard “Howie” – passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday August 13th, 2018. Howie Pearson of Port Rowan in his 89th year.

Sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Madelyn Pearson and his children Michael John Pearson (Anna Maria Hartley) and Laurie Lynne Pearson (David Turvey). Beloved Grandad to his grandchildren Hattie Madelyn Doerksen (Kieran Carr), Benjamin Michael Doerksen and Max and Noah Turvey. Special Great Grandad to Kyza Alan Doerksen Carr.

Predeceased by his parents George Howard and Ida Mae Pearson, sister Sheila Pearson and in-laws Jack and Dorothy Suddaby.

Howie was born April 24, 1930 in Burford, Ontario moving to Brantford when he was 8 years old. Howie and Joyce married in 1954 and raised their family in Brantford, living there until 1995 when they both retired and began their adventure living in Port Rowan in the Villages of Long Point Bay.
