SPIETAELS: Robert Desire – passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018  at University Hospital, London  Bob Spietaels  of Long Point  in his 70th  year.

Beloved husband of Wendy (nee Swindall) whom he married November 6, 1971.   Dear father of Angela (Spietaels) Woodward of Langton and Rob Spietaels of Long Point.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Bradley and Emily Woodward and Hunter & Tanner  Spietaels .  He is survived by his brothers Archie of Ingersoll and Maurice of Long Point, by sister Josie Gilbert & Ken Young of Simcoe, by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bessie Spietaels of Lasalette, Wayne Swindall of Toronto, Ben Swindall & wife Dianne of Delhi and Sue & Howie McLaren of Port Rowan.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph & Julie (Vandeweghe) Spietaels, brother George.

Bob and Wendy have owned and operated Marina Shores Ltd. in Long Point for the past 45 years.

Relatives & friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home 36 Front St., Port Rowan for memorial visitation on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  Memorial Service will be conducted in the Clark Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Wish  Foundation  (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

UNSWORTH: Audrey (nee Mitchell)

Passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017 in her 96th year.

Dear mother of Gail Pilgrim(Vince), Patty Westever, Linda Woods, Susanna Smith(Steve) and mother in law of Barry Vincent and Cindy Unsworth. Loving grandma of Geoff Pilgrim, Megan Mattie(Jody), Emmalee Glover(Jamie), Stephanie El-Achhab(Joe), Andrew Unsworth(Petra), and Jack Smith(Taylor). Great grandma of Georgia and Mitchell Glover, Lilly Pilgrim, Bryn Mattie, and Bellamy Smith.

She is predeceased by her husband of 71 years Alfred Sale (2011), daughter Andrea (2004), son Sam (2014), and infant son Danny (1946).

Audrey will be fondly remembered by all for her sharp wit, delicious baking, fierce independence, and love of animals.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Audrey’s life will take place in the Clark Chapel of the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home 36 Front St., Port Rowan on Saturday May 26, 2018 at 11:00am.  Reception to follow with Interment in the Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan.

BURKE: Darell Gordon

BURKE: Darell Gordon – passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday May 16, 2018. Gordon Burke of St. Williams in his 74th year.

Gord was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by his parents Harry & Kate (Morris) Burke, by his sisters Lucille Bouck and Doris Cooper and by his brothers Paul, Terry and Al.  He is survived by his nephews Jan & Shawn Cooper, Mark& Jeff  Burke and Wayne & Randy Bouck.

All funeral arrangements will remain private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front Street Port Rowan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

CLINE: Jean Alexina Mary (nee Charter) –  passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe.  Jean Cline of Port Rowan and formerly of Cambridge in her 86th year.

Beloved wife of Richard “Dick” Cline whom she married September 14, 1957.  Loving mother of Elizabeth & husband Don Beveridge of Burlington, Eric Cline of Simcoe, and Catherine & husband Jay Marteniuk of Kitchener.  Special Nana to Katie & Shawn, Sydney, Jayme and Celina. Survived by her sisters Barbara Watt of Tillsonburg, Margaret Davies of Burlington and sister-in-law Alva Charter of Ancaster.  She will be missed by her furry friends Maggie and Harvey.

Predeceased by her parents Truman & Margaret (Kirkwood) Charter, brothers Ken, Liston, Bob & Jim Charter and sisters Beth Hunter and Rita Jacobs.

Jean was a supportive wife of Richard in the Funeral Business for many years and was a longtime member of the Galt Golf & Country Club, the Chicopee Ski Club and had volunteered at the Norfolk General Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Jean’s Life at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home 36 Front St., Port Rowan when the spring blossoms are out, Saturday May 12, 2018 at 11:00am.  A reception will follow at the Family Home.

BAKER: Jacqueline Anne UE (Updated)

BAKER:  Jacqueline Anne UE  – passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday February 5, 2018 in her 80th year.

Beloved wife of Ronald E. Baker, they married in Port Rowan on April 16, 1960.  Loving mother of David & his wife Krista of Baltimore, Maryland, Hilary Sharp-Baker & her husband Gregory Sharp of Dover, New Jersey, Timothy & his wife Natalie of Baltimore, Maryland, Paul Ferris-Baker & his wife Naiara of Baltimore, Maryland.

Cherished grandma of Julian, Elizabeth, Chloe, Matthew, Emma, Noah and Maxwell.

Daughter of the late Norman & Margaret Ferris.  Jackie was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and trustee of Christ Anglican Church, Vittoria.  She is a member of Port Rowan South Walsingham Heritage Association and a United Empire Loyalist.  Jackie was a graduate of Western University and had a career as a therapeutic dietitian.   She spent most of her life in Europe and United States before retiring in Port Rowan in 2002.

Friends may call at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home, 36 Front St. Port Rowan, Ontario on Friday April 27, 2018 from 7-9 p.m.  Memorial Service in Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held on April 28, 2018 at 11:00a.m. from St. John’s Anglican Church, 46 Front Road, Port Rowan, Ontario.
